Alex Tew did it again

The pixel advertising pioneer, Alex Tew with the MillionDollarHomepage, did it again. He succeeded with another project and sold out Pixelotto.com. Pixelotto.com consisted of a million pixel grid, where advertisers participated at a lottery game. Now the grid has been filled and the winner of the lottery won $ 153000.

State of Pixel Advertising

In general there is only a few news about pixel advertising and pixel pages in popular news publications. But it is an active sphere. At our homepage we got daily visitors and even daily new customers. Recently an analysis of own logfiles for other homepages has shown that other pixel pages are active, too, by referring new visitors. This is due for various topics, good news and has given reason for a brief research. And indeed, while using digg.com niche news stories have been found immediately while using the term "pixel page". And it seems to be obviously that those little pixel banners do have similarities to those social media buttons or profile icons giving graphic designers a challenge. Some fun stuff is here. A recently published article defining pixel advertising can be found here.

PixelAds Yellow Pages

Pixel page styled Yellow Pages are a further art of pixel advertising design. At these pages the adverts are assorted by topics as it usually happens at a yellow pages directory and directory at all. It seems that there are at least two species, fully designed directories and directories based on a pixel page script. At most of these pixel yellow pages one see most of the adverts at the main page. An exception is bla.st, which is successfully filled with ads. In the following there are some further pixel page styled yellow pages directories.

AMillionQuid.com
bla.st
europepixels.com
pixalls
pixelpageinternational.com
